Incident in Britomart overnight

Police are investigating a fight that occurred in central Auckland overnight. 

  The fight broke out around 4.30am this morning, outside McDonalds restaurant in Britomart, Queen Street.    A large group of people are believed to have been involved and two people were initially taken in a serious condition to hospital as a result.    The condition of both men (aged 18 and 24 years old) has now improved and they are now considered to be status 3 (stable) condition.    Two people were arrested for disorderly behaviour and were given a formal caution.    Police believe fighting was also occurring at around the same time at the Ferry terminal in Quay St, and also around the intersection of Queen and Quay Streets.    Investigations are ongoing to identify the people involved.    Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incidents, they are asked to contact Auckland City Police on 09 302 6557.    ENDS
