Police are investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred in Hastings on 1 January and are appealing for the public's help.
Around 1:40am, a 29-year-old woman was walking in the area of the Fuelling Station car park of Pak N Save on Heretaunga Street
The woman was set upon by two to three females, who punched her and threw her to the ground before making off with her handbag which contained her cellphone and other items. The offenders then left in a maroon coloured sedan.
Police would like to speak with a young man who spoke to the woman as she made her way home, and anyone else who may have witnessed this incident or been in the area at the time.
