1 min read

Emergency services received reports that a vehicle had crashed into the front of the Cup Café on Dyers Pass Road shortly after 3.10pm this afternoon (10 February 2015).

The vehicle, a taxi, is understood to have been travelling downhill towards the intersection of Dyers Pass Road and Hackthorne Road where the café is located.

The driver and sole occupant of the taxi is uninjured.  Two customers in the café are being treated for minor injuries at the scene by St John paramedics.  One person has been taken to Christchurch Hospital with minor injuries as a precaution.

Canterbury Police investigations into the incident are continuing.

The café was busy at the time of the crash and it is fortunate that no one was seriously injured.

Canterbury Police ask the public to be patient if travelling in the area as there may be delays while the scene is cleared.
