Kidnapping report of concern

Auckland City CIB are appealing for information that would assist them identify and locate three men who are reported to have kidnapped two young women from the central city at about 4am.

The women, aged 18 and 19, have told Police they were forced into a dark vehicle that pulled up alongside them as they walked from Darby St onto Queen St towards Wyndham St.

Detective Sergeant Nick Poland of Auckland City Crime Squad says the young women were dragged into the back seat of the vehicle by two men while the driver remained at the wheel.

"They've told us they were stopped from screaming when hands were held across their mouths and they were driven, probably via the Southern Motorway, to the intersection of Greelane West and St Andrews Rd where they were pushed out of the vehicle.

"From here they called Police and we are now appealing to anyone who may have seen any of the activity on Queen St or in the Greenlane area where the girls were left.

Two of the men were described as Maori, both wearing black clothes, while the driver was described as a taller Caucasian wearing a black t-shirt and white pants.
