Overnight Police have arrested and charged a 17-year-old male with murder, after a man's body was found on the side of Matahorua Road, Tutira, around 9:30am yesterday.
He is due to appear in Hastings District Court this morning.
Formal identification of the victim is still being carried out, however we are confident we know who the victim is and are liaising with his family.
Police were at the scene until late last night carrying out an examination and speaking to a number of people who are assisting with our enquiries.
We would still like to speak with anyone who was in the Matahorua Road/Shine Falls area over the weekend or yesterday morning.
