Police investigating the death of Joe Rangi Patrick Collier in Opotiki have arrested and charged a local man with his murder.
The 34-year-old man will appear at Whakatane District Court tomorrow. Mr Collier’s family have been advised of the arrest.
Forensic examinations and witness interviews will continue throughout today and likely into tomorrow.
As the matter is before the court there will be no further comment.
