Man sought for accosting women in Mt Albert

Auckland City District Police are seeking help from the public to identify a man who has been approaching women in Mt Albert and trying to kiss and touch them. .

The man is now sought in connection with six assault cases all of which have been on women in an area around Pak n Save supermarket and Mt Albert train station.

Detective Martin Friend said the offender’s actions have been upsetting and frightening for the victims and Police are very keen to locate him.   

“This man is often approaching women from behind, putting his hands and arms around their necks and then trying to kiss them. It’s totally unacceptable behaviour and is usually happening in broad daylight.”

Detective Friend appealed to anyone who may have seen these incidents, or who recognises the offender in the identikit photo to please call the Crime Squad on (09) xxx

The man is described as slim to medium build, around 160-170m tall and often wearing a beanie or cap.

An identikit imate of the offender and a map of the area where some of the offences have occured is attached.
