Man sought and homicide investigation started in Waikato

A 60-year-old woman has died following an incident at an address in the Waikato town of Otorohanga yesterday evening.

A 64-year-old man was found wounded at the same dwelling. He was flown to Waikato Hospital, where he is in a critical condition in ICU.

Both had sustained knife wounds.

Emergency services were alerted at approximately 8.30pm.

Police are seeking 34-year-old Ross Douglas Bremner in connection with the incidents. Police teams, including the AOS, are looking for him in the Otorohanga area. 

Mr Bremner is known to the victims.

“We want to send a message to the community that Police has taken steps to ensure all is being done to keep people safe while we investigate this matter,” says Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Greene.

“However, if any local person has any concerns, they should not hesitate to call Police,” he says. 

Anyone who sees Mr Bremner or has any information about his whereabouts is asked to call 111.
