Mosgiel Police seek man who approached young girl

Dunedin Police are seeking the public's help following a report of a suspicious man who approached a young girl in Outram, Dunedin at approximately 3:40pm this afternoon.

He pulled over on the side of George-King Memorial Drive and asked the girl to get into his vehicle.

Although the girl refused and left on her bike, she is left shaken.

Police are concerned about this man's behaviour and are seeking to identify him. 

The man is described as in his 40s or 50s, with short, balding hair, a beard and tattoos on his arm.

He was driving a green or blue-coloured hatchback car and was driving down George-King Memorial Drive towards Outram.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or the car or believes they may be able to identify the man is asked to contact Sergeant Kevin Davidson at Dunedin Police on 03 471 4800.

At this stage, no further information is available.
