Police can now release the name of the man who died in a crash on Monday 31 December, near Colville, Thames-Coromandel District.
He was Mickey Tarahuirangi Albert, aged 41, of Auckland.
The crash occurred on Port Jackson Road, near Colville.
Police extend their sympathies to his whanau and loved ones, as well as the injured children who were with him in the vehicle, who remain in Starship hospital.
The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing and Police urge everyone to drive safely this summer.
