Police are investigating the death of ten-month-old Elliott Nicholas Allen Whitehead, who drowned last night at a residence in Putaruru. Both Fire and ambulance staff attended the scene but sadly could not resuscitate Elliott.
This is a tragedy and Elliott’s family has specifically requested, via Police, that media please respect their privacy and do not attempt to contact them.
A scene examination will take place at the Putaruru residence this morning. A post mortem is currently underway. No further comment will be made at this stage while our inquiries are continuing.
