Name released in Christchurch pedestrian death

Police have released the name of a pedestrian who died after being struck by a van in Christchurch on Thursday.

He was Donald Rutherford Wilson, aged 83, of Amberley.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Tuam Street and Stanmore Road at about 4pm on Thursday. Mr Wilson died in hospital on Friday morning.

Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
