Mobil aggravated robbery

Napier Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at the Mobil petrol station on Taradale Road last night.

At approximately 9.30pm on Monday 22 August a person armed with a machete entered the Mobil petrol station on Taradale Road and demanded the lone attendant hand over cigarettes and tobacco. During the incident the attendant was struck several times with the machete, inflicting a laceration on the attendants arm.

When a member of the public has entered the store the alleged offender has fled.

Police believe the alleged offender (pictured here) would have been loitering around the petrol station before entering. Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or witnessed the incident is asked to contact Napier Police on 06 873 0500. Alternatively information can be shared anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
