The search for the missing person off Paritutu, New Plymouth has continued today.
Police have worked with Land Search and Rescue (LSAR) volunteers, Surf Lifesaving and the South Taranaki Coastguard.
Ground teams have been searching the beachfront between Oakura and Bell Block.
The Taranaki Rescue Helicopter has been searching surrounding areas, up to 5km out at sea.
Throughout the day the search area has been expanded given the changing wind and tide conditions.
The search will be reviewed this evening and decisions will be made on the next stage of the search.
