NZ Police roll out next phase of recruitment campaign - plus Media Advisory for Photo Opportunity on Wednesday 29 November

2 min read

New Zealand Police are rolling out the next phase of their new recruitment campaign tomorrow, with the placement of high profile posters in adshels in communities.

The outdoor poster campaign is focused on getting people to think about joining NZ Police by asking people to imagine whether the police uniform is a good ‘fit’ for them.

The target for this phase of the campaign is fit and active people who want to help their communities and enjoy being part of a team, so many of the posters will be located next to sports fields.

However, as featured in “The World’s Most Entertaining Police Recruitment Video”, we also want potential recruits to know you don’t need to be a ‘muscle man’ in order to meet our fitness requirements.

Media are invited to attend the installation of one of the first adshel posters in Wellington, at the bus stop located outside Parliament at the Lambton Quay end of Molesworth Street.

The placement will take place at 8.45am, Wednesday 29 November.

In attendance will be the Hon Stuart Nash, the Minister of Police, and NZ Police’s Deputy Chief Executive Maori and Pacific Ethnic and Services, Wally Haumaha, and Deputy Chief Executive People, Kaye Ryan.

The new campaign, “The World’s Most Entertaining Police Recruitment Video”, launched via social media on Sunday and has had a phenomenal response, reaching nearly 8 million people and driving a huge increase in traffic to the ‘New Cops’ website with 500 new profiles created in the first 24 hours.

If you plan on attending the adshels placement on Wednesday, please email Rachel Purdom from the NZ Police Media Centre: Rachel.Purdom@police.govt.nz

Note:
A sample poster image is available on request - media outlets who would like to request a copy can email Rachel (noting that use of the poster will be embargoed until 8.45am Wednesday 29 November).
