Operation Leo detectives have arrested and charged a 26-year-old Porirua man with assault on Bruce Maurice Coker. The charge is in relation to events that took place in Rossiter Street on the 20th December 2014.
The man will be held in Police custody overnight to appear in the Poriua District Court Monday 5th January 2015. The investigation into Mr Coker's death continues and it is likely further charges against the man will follow.
Mr Coker's whanau have expressed their relief in the arrest being made today and would like to thank all those involved in making it happen.
