Operation Venice - Friday 8 August

1 min read

Police investigating the death of Connor Morris have located a number of items of interest that are being forensically examined. It is too soon to be able to confirm if one of them is the weapon and it will be several days yet before Police are able to do this.

The meticulous scene examination at several locations on Don Buck Road is ongoing and is expected to continue well into the weekend.

Detectives working on the enquiry are continuing to speak to the large number of people who were present on the night, and Detective Inspector Greg Cramer says he is satisfied with the progress that is being made.

"The team are working hard, they'll be working through the weekend and everyone involved is putting in long hours. We appreciate the public interest in Mr Morris's death, including a large amount of posts on social media, however this is a sensitive investigation that will not benefit from being played out in the media" says Det Insp Greg Cramer, Waitemata Police.

A steady stream of people have visited the scene today to lay floral tributes and pay their respects.

Police would like to thank local businesses and residents who have been inconvenienced this week for their ongoing assistance.
