Police is advising motorists that Otira Highway (State Highway 73) is blocked following a single vehicle crash.
A truck left the road around 11:30am on Otira Highway near Punchbowl Road.
No injuries have been reported however the road is expected to be closed between Arthur’s Pass and Otira for a number of hours.
The delay is due to the truck needing to be removed by a crane and a paint spillage on the road.
Police thanks motorists in advance for their patience.
