Canterbury Police are urging the public to be vigilant and contact them straight away if they are offered or see new power tools for sale at prices too good to be true.
Detective Sergeant Al Lester says the burglary is reported to have taken place between 6pm on 11 December 2015 and 7am on 14 December 2015 from a commercial property in Hornby. “A large number of brand new Makita, Senco, Dewalt, Bradder, Paslode, Omni and Maknz tools were taken valued at around $27k.”
Investigations are ongoing and Police are following a positive line of inquiry.
“There is a possibility that these stolen tools could be offered at prices too good to be true in the lead up to Christmas. The penalty for purchasing stolen property could result in up to seven years imprisonment.”
Police urge anyone who sees any power tools at prices too good to be true to contact Police straight away by calling the Crime Reporting Line on 03 363 7400, visiting your local Police Station or message us on Facebook.
