Palmerston North Police make arrests in relation to two aggravated robberies

Palmerston North Police have made two arrests following two recent aggravated robberies in the city.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the aggravated Robbery at The Butt Bucket in Main Street, Palmerston North. The man has been charged with a number of offences relating to that incident and offending which occurred in the hours before.

The man appeared in the Palmerston North District Court today and has been remanded in custody.

The stolen vehicle used during the robbery has also been located but Police are continuing to make enquiries to locate a co-offender.

Police have also made an arrest following a robbery at the Rewa Dairy on Botanical Road at about 4pm on Thursday 28 July.

Police executed a search warrant at a Palmerston North address near the dairy today and arrested a male. He remains in custody to appear in the Youth Court on Monday 1 August.

“Police are very happy to resolve these incidents promptly and without incident. Assistance from the community has been gratefully received and led us to these great results. I hope that having these men in custody goes some way to helping the victims recover and ensure the general public feel safer”, said Detective Sergeant Dave Wishnowsky.
