Police are responding to an incident where a number of pedestrians have been hit on Wairau Road, Wairau Valley.
Police were called around 8:30 this morning when a car hit five people.
One female is critical and another is in a serious condition. They have both been taken to Auckland Hospital.
Three other people have moderate to minor injuries.
The driver remained on the scene and is speaking to Police.
The road is currently closed between Porana and Forest Hill Roads.
The Serious Crash Unit are on the scene.
