Police have responded to a firearms incident where shots were reportedly fired into the air in Northcote around 3.12pm.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
A vehicle involved in the incident has fled the Northcote area, eventually travelling south on the SH1 Motorway towards South Auckland where the vehicle was observed by Eagle helicopter allegedly driving dangerously at speed.
The vehicle then headed west on SH20 before exiting at Roscommon Road.
The driver of the vehicle has been taken into custody a short time ago in Weymouth, near the intersection of Weymouth Road and Roscommon Road.
Enquiries are ongoing and Police remain on the scene, however at this stage we are not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident.
