Pig hunters found safe and well

1 min read

The pig hunters reported missing in Pureora Forest are safe and well.

They walked themselves out to a Department of Conservation base on Barryville Road.

Police are still in the process of clarifying whether there are two or three hunters.

A search was mounted after the party last night failed to return home from their trip into the forest, which is west of Lake Taupo and east of Te Kuiti.

Waikato Police District would like to thank volunteers from Waitomo Land Search and Rescue (LandSAR) for joining Police in the search.
