Police appeal for sightings of car prior to Waitangi Day robbery

Canterbury Police received reports that at around midnight a man was severely beaten and stomped in the North Avon/Hills Road area during a robbery on Waitangi Day (6 February 2015). 

After a short search emergency services located the concussed man in Shirley Road and took him to Christchurch Hospital where he was treated for several facial fractures and upper body injuries.

A 21 year old man has been charged with aggravated robbery and will appear in Christchurch District Court on 11 February 2015.

Canterbury Police encourage the driver of a car that was reported to have been at the scene before the robbery or anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them on 03 363 7400 option 5.
