Police calling for information following assault at holiday park

Hawke's Bay Police are appealing for witnesses and further information to a serious assault that occurred on Sunday 11 September at the Hastings Top Ten Holiday Park.

Detective Sergeant Darren Pritchard said that a 23 year old male was assault at the holiday park and stabbed with a knife. He is still in Hawke’s Bay Hospital recovering from his injuries.

Following the assault the alleged offender has fled in the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle, a grey Toyota Surf 4x4 vehicle, was dumped near the intersection of Albert Street and Park Road, North Hastings at about 8am on Sunday 11 September.

Police would like to hear from residents around the area to check their properties for any foreign items. The weapon used in the attack has not been recovered.
