Queenstown Police are investigating two burglaries at construction sites over the weekend of 17-19 August.

A tandem trailer, registration W562W was stolen from Jack Hanley Drive, Jacks Point, along with a Hyundai Robe digger (see attached photo).

A second trailer, registration 5Z272, sign-written with ALLstone Masonry (see attached photo) was stolen from Belfast Terrace, Queenstown.  Also stolen from this location were two wheelbarrows, a Makita stereo, and a Makita drill set.

Police believe the two burglaries are likely connected.  We also believe these are targeted burglaries and the offenders will be using or offering the items for sale.

We’d like to hear from anyone with information which could assist our investigation into these burglaries. Please email Constable Nicola Clark if you can help: Nicola.clark@police.govt.nz

Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police are also urging site managers and tradespersons to ensure all their equipment is well-secured on site or in trucks.
