Queenstown Police are seeking information from the public after a woman was indecently assaulted in Queenstown on Sunday 8 July.

Just before midnight a woman was indecently assaulted by a man did not know as she walked home from work.

The man approached from the public phone boxes outside the Night and Day store on Camp Street as she walked past, and propositioned her.

Several minutes later he followed her on Hotops Rise, and grabbed at her as she walked past Queenstown Resort College.

When she verbally challenged him, the man ran back towards Camp Street.

He is described as about 6ft tall, caucasian, and of slim build, with blonde hair, wearing tan-coloured pants and a black hooded jacket.

If anyone witnessed this assault, or saw a man behaving suspiciously in the area of the Night and Day on Camp Street around midnight on Sunday, please call Detective Lisa Watt at Queenstown Police Station on (03) 441 1600.
