1 min read

Police are asking people to be vigilant following a number theft ex-cars and stolen motor vehicles from the Bay of Islands.

Far North Area Commander Inspector Wendy Robilliard says people need to be aware of any suspicious activity, particularly around marinas and beach areas.

“They also need to lock their vehicles and take all valuables with them. If possible park your vehicle near other vehicles or in an area monitored by CCTV cameras. Don’t give these thieves any opportunity to steal.”

Ms Robilliard says if people do see any suspicious activity, particularly if anyone is hanging around vehicles then they should call police immediately on the 111 emergency number.

“Police are investigating the thefts and stolen vehicles and are following positive lines of inquiry.”
