Police investigating burglary in Ngatea

1 min read

Police are investigating a ram-raid style burglary at a business on Orchard West Road, Ngatea, Hauraki District early this morning.

At around 3.50am a group of offenders used a 1990 Nissan Safari, registration FTC72, to ram the fence on the northern side of the yard.

The vehicle had previously been stolen from Flatbush, Auckland.

The offenders then entered the building after smashing a window, taking five motorcycles valued at $13,000 each.

The bikes were loaded onto a furniture moving type truck and the stolen vehicle was abandoned not far from the scene.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and CCTV footage is currently being reviewed.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle, or the truck, in the area this morning.

Anyone with information that could assist with enquiries can be directed to Paeroa Police on (07) 862 8744.

Alternatively, information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
