Police investigating indecent filming of girls in Napier

Police are investigating after a man reportedly tried to film up the skirts of teenage girls as they walked down Shakespeare Rd and onto Browning St, Napier.

The incident occurred on Thursday the 24th August at approximately 3.30pm.    The man is described as European in his late 30’s early 40’s, medium build with distinctive blue eyes.

Police staff have spoken to victims and an inquiry is underway.

Detective Sergeant Heath Jones says   “This is disturbing behaviour and we need people to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity like this.

“This is a very concerning incident where a male has brazenly filmed the girls in a very public place and police are concerned by this type of offending.”
