At about 3.30 am today emergency services were called to a house on SH33 Whangamarino. They located a 17-year-old female who had been struck by a vehicle on SH33 Whangamarino. This occurred near the Whangamarino School.
The victim has significant injuries and is in a critical condition. She has been transported to Waikato hospital.
Rotorua CIB are interviewing a number of people, however would like to speak to anyone who was travelling on SH33 between 3 am and 3.30 am near the Whangamarino School.
They would also like to speak to anyone who heard raised voices or a disturbance in and around this area.
