1 min read

Police are calling for information from the public after a vehicle travelling with an insecure load almost resulted in tragic consequences.

At about 8.45am on Tuesday 13 September a driver was travelling south on SH1 between Balclutha and Milton when a wooden fence post came off a passing vehicle and smashed into his windscreen.

The passing vehicle was travelling north towards Milton and is described as a white lite truck with a wooden flat deck.

“The post went through his windscreen and was inches away from causing him a very serious injury,” said South Otago Section Supervisor Sergeant Martin Bull.

Police would like to hear from any members of the public who may be able to help in identifying the white truck with wooden flat deck.

Information can be shared with Police on 03 418 4839 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
