Police make arrest after ram raid attempt in Wellington

1 min read

Thanks to eagle-eyed members of the public, Police have arrested two men after a ram raid in Wellington this morning.

The witnesses saw a suspicious vehicle which was used shortly afterwards to crash into a service station in Ngaio around 6am.

Police were called and thanks to the information provided a Road Policing unit located the vehicle soon after and the offenders were arrested.

This is a great example of how the public can provide information to assist Police in solving crime. Without this information Police would not have been able to solve this crime so quickly.

By not turning a blind eye to crime in your community, you can make a difference. Let police know your observations and we will do something about it.

The front window of the service station was smashed and at this stage it is not known what was taken. Police’s inquiries into this are ongoing.
