Police name pedestrian killed at Turakina

Whanganui Police can now release the name of the male pedestrian killed on SH3 at Turakina yesterday evening (10 March, 2014).

He was Anthony Shramka, aged 27, of Whanganui.

Officers have now spoken to the truck driver but are still in the process of speaking to other witnesses.

The Serious Crash Unit and the Whanganui Police are continuing their investigation.

Police want to speak to anyone that saw a man hitchhiking between 9:30pm and 10:10pm near the Whanganui Road intersection in the Turakina Township last night.

Police also still want to speak to anyone that saw or heard the crash.
