Police seek 4x4 in relation to crash on Gillespies Line

1 min read

Police are continuing their investigation into a vehicle collision that occurred on Gillespies Line on the 27th November 2015 at around 10.00pm.

The collision occurred a short distance from the 100km sign on Gillespies Line on the outskirts of Palmerston North.

The collision resulted in a 20-year-old female suffering serious head injuries who was later transferred to Wellington Hospital ICU for treatment.

The vehicle and scene examination have now been completed. Police have also spoken to a number of witnesses but are keen to speak to a driver of a 4 x 4 motor vehicle that has travelled down Gillespies Line immediately prior to the crash occurring.

Detective Sergeant Dave Thompson says, "Police want to make it clear that the driver of this motor vehicle is not involved in the accident and most probably is not even aware that a crash has occurred. However they may have seen a male and female walking along Gillespies Line and the movement of these two people is key to understanding how this accident has occurred.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Daniel Smith (06) 213 9592. Information can also be provided anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
