Attributable to Detective Senior Sergeant Karen Heald:

Police continue to investigate the death of Dayne Rademakers and are now seeking to locate a distinctive camo-coloured beanie with built-in lights on the front.

Detective Senior Sergeant Karen Heald says, “after a number of enquiries, this beanie has become an item of interest to our investigation.

It may have been discarded around the time of Mr Rademakers death and we are interested to hear from anyone with information.

The beanie is unique and was possibly stolen in the weeks leading up to the time of Mr Rademakers death.

Mr Rademakers was located at an address on Clyde Crescent, Palmerston North in the early hours of August 21, 2023 with fatal stab wounds.

“We are continuing to work hard to get answers for Mr Rademakers family and provide them with a sense of closure.”

Anyone with information can pass that on to the investigation team by calling 105 and quoting file number 230821/7290.

Alternatively, reports can be made anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111 or www.crimestoppers-nz.org
