Early yesterday morning, Mr Tametame Wiremu died after having been admitted to Auckland Hospital on the afternoon of Tuesday 12 May 2015.

Mr Wiremu was 68 years old of Manurewa and was also known as Tommy Wiremu.

Police are tracing his movements in the City area between 9am and 1pm that Tuesday and would like to hear from anybody who may have seen him in the vicinity of the Auckland Transport carpark on Victoria Street or on Lorne Street, Victoria Street, High Street and Queen Street.

He was of solid build, in his late 60s, had a shaved head and long white beard. He was wearing grey tracksuit pants with two white stripes down the legs, a black polo shirt, grey long sleeved jersey with a black panel down each side and grey/black slippers.

CCTV footage shows that Mr Wiremu removed his jersey at some point during the afternoon. Police would like to locate this and  a manila folder containing documentation which he was carrying in his bag.

Any information can be provided to Operation Oregano on 09 3026406 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
