Police are appealing for public information to help find Auckland teenager, 16-year-old Chicaine Erihe.

Chicaine resides in Waitakere but was reported missing on June 24 when he did not return to his caregivers. A couple of days after this he was reported in the Whangaparaoa area but he has not been in touch with friends or family since then.

“Chicaine does have a history of running away but this is the longest period of time that he has been missing without anyone hearing from him, or returning home,” says Sergeant Daniel Brown, from Waitakere Police.

“We have made a number of enquiries into Chicaine’s whereabouts but are yet to find him. We have concerns for his wellbeing and want to hear from him or anyone who knows his whereabouts, so we can be sure he’s safe,” says Sergeant Brown.

Chicaine is a male Maori, 176cm tall and of a thin build.

Chicaine has family connections in Whangarei and it is a possibility he may be in that area.

If anyone has information on his whereabouts please contact Waitakere Police on 09 839 0734 or email Daniel.brown@police.govt.nz

Information can also be provided anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
