Police Ten 7 to profile violent Christchurch robbery

1 min read

Police investigating the armed robbery of a Christchurch bar are hoping Police Ten 7 viewers will be able to identify those involved.

At about 8.50pm on Tuesday 23 October, three men wearing black hoodies and scarves over their faces entered Coaster’s Tavern on Daniels Road in Redwood.

Armed with a screwdriver, a machete and a firearm, the men threatened bar staff and patrons as they demanded money.

During the incident, one shot was fired into the ceiling and three people were assaulted.

Detective Sergeant Brad Greenstreet says this violent and dangerous incident has terrified the three staff members and 12 patrons in the bar at the time.

“The use of violence and weapons, particularly the discharging of a firearm, is of major concern.

“Police would like to reassure the public that we are committed to catching these offenders and holding them to account.”

Watch Police Ten 7 at 7.30pm on TVNZ2 tomorrow (Thursday 22 November) to see if you can help find those responsible.

The case will be shared after the broadcast on the Police Ten 7 Facebook page onto the New Zealand Police page.
