Waitakere Police want to identify this man (picture details below) and speak to anyone who may also have been approached by him, following a report of the inappropriate touching of a 13 year-old girl at a West Auckland movie theatre.

On Tuesday afternoon between 1pm and 5.30pm, the man was seen going between all 8 theatres at the WestCity Events Cinema in Henderson.

While he was in one of the theatres he allegedly sat down next to a girl and when the lights dimmed, touched her inappropriately several times.

The man left the theatre and the girl swapped seats with her brother. The alleged offender returned but noticed the victim had moved and left again.

Police believe there may be other victims and are encouraging anyone who experienced a similar incident to contact them.

Anyone who can identify the man is asked to call Detective Sergeant Steve Salton on 09 8390629 or email steve.salton@police.govt.nz.

Information can also be provided anonymously to the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
