1 min read

Police are appealing for further witnesses after a man with a black handgun confronted an employee of the Blackball Liquor Store in Tairua last night.

The confrontation occurred outside the rear of the store around 8pm last night.

The offender was masked and wearing dark clothing.

It is fortunate that a witness at a nearby address saw the incident and yelled out, disturbing the offender who has then quickly fled on foot in a northerly direction through the nearby golf course.

Fortunately no injuries were sustained nor does it appear that any items have been stolen.

If anybody has any information in relation to this incident please contact Detective Constable Mark LEATHEM on 07 858 6200
