Search for Tyler Nii continues.

1 min read

Attribute to Inspector Olaf Jensen, Area Commander Otago Lakes Central

The Police National Dive Squad has arrived in Queenstown.

They will be setting up sonar equipment this morning and will be out on Lake Wakatipu.

The set up phase is likely to take most of the day and a decision will be made later today whether the sonar can be deployed. This will also be dependent on weather conditions.

The search will be operating off a barge at the Jack's Point area of the lake, around a kilometre off shore.

Police ask that other lake users please stay away from the search area.

Weather conditions are good today and there is wind forecast for tomorrow.

The search team is committed to finding Tyler and our thoughts are with his family at this time.
