To be attributed to Detective Snr Sgt Grant Ferguson, Porirua Police
On Sunday 6 December 2015 at about 3:00am, two men aged 34 and 37 were assaulted by a group of men as they walked up Mungavin Avenue.
Both men were taken to Wellington Hopsital with head injuries. The 34 year old man was released later in the day.
Yesterday, a 21 year old man was arrested in Porirua and charged with Wounding with Intent to cause Grievous Bodily Harm.
Enquiries are continuing and Police will not rule out that further arrests are possible.
The 37 year old victim remains in hospital and is starting to show slow signs of improvement.
