Emergency services are attending a serious crash on State Highway 2, 10km north of Mt Bruce, Tararua near Eketahuna.
Two trucks collided at approximately 5:30am this morning, Thursday 15 December 2016.
One person has serious injuries and is being transported to Palmerston North Hospital by helicopter.
Another person has been taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.
The road is closed between South Road and Opaki Bridge, south of Eketahuna and motorists should expect delays for the next two hours.
Diversions are in place while the Serious Crash Unit investigate.
