State Highway 25 reopens after fatal crash

1 min read

State Highway 25 has reopened after an earlier fatal crash in which a 59-year-old motorcyclist died.

The motorcyclist was travelling southbound when he was in collision with a car travelling northbound at about 3.30pm, on a rural section of the highway between Tairua and Whangamata.

The occupants of the car were not injured.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.

As far as Police is concerned, any death or injury on New Zealand's roads is one too many.

Waikato Police are urging all motorists to do their bit to keep themselves and other road users safe by following basic road safety rules. These include driving to the conditions, staying within your lane, checking your speed, taking rest breaks and always wearing your seat belt.
