Police have today arrested two men for the aggravated robbery of a dairy in Porirua, on 6th of August 2016.

The incident left the dairy owner shaken and with several knife wounds to the back of his head and neck.

Both men appeared in Porirua District Court today.

A 15 year-old-boy was also spoken to as part of the investigation and has been referred to Youth Aid.

Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Ferguson says the level of violence handed out on this occasion was extreme and a real cause of concern for Police.

“We were determined to identify those responsible, hold them to account and protect the community from them.”

Senior Sergeant Ferguson also acknowledges the efforts from some “very brave individuals” within the community that came forward to assist the police.

“It’s fantastic when the community and Police are able to work in partnership to solve and prevent crimes from reoccurring.”
