Unexplained death in Oamaru – Update 2

Police are continuing to investigate the unexplained death of a man at a commercial premise on Arun Street and can confirm him as being Wayne John Ross, aged 46 years, of Oamaru.

Police aim to complete the scene examination today at the commercial address where Mr Ross was found. A post-mortem is also being completed today at 1.00pm and police hope to gain more information in regards to what may have happened.

Police are also asking any members of the public who may have seen Mr Ross from when he left a Towey St address at 7pm on Friday 12 June and 5pm on Saturday 13 June when Police found him at the Arun St address.

It is believed he may have had contact with members of the community or made purchases at shops prior to going to the Arun St address.

Mr Ross is 178cm tall and of medium build. He was wearing blue jeans and a two-tone blue (dark/light) chequered jacket with wool skin lining and collar.
