The four-wheel-drive vehicle that went off Victoria Avenue Bridge near Anzac Parade, Whanganui last night has now been recovered from the water.
Police can confirm one man was found deceased inside the vehicle.
Indications are he was the sole occupant.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
Police would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the crash or who has information that may be of assistance.
