Vehicle appeal after attempted robbery in Tauranga

Tauranga Detectives are appealing for information about a vehicle seen around the Argyll Road/ Tyrone Street area, at the time of an attempted robbery at a dairy on Wednesday evening.

At 6.45pm on 17   August 2016, two men entered the Carlisle Street dairy armed with a plastic pistol and a knife.

They demanded money but were chased out of the store empty-handed by the owner and his assistant. 

One of the offenders was wearing dark blue trousers with a reflectorized band around the knee.

They were last seen running down Tyrone Street and getting into a car that's been described as silver and a modern shape.

Anyone who may have seen the car, or have any information about this incident, is asked to contact Tauranga Police on 07 577 4300. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
