Canterbury Police are now able to release the name of the victim of a single vehicle crash last night (9 December 2015). He was 24 year old Nicholas Brent Morrison from Christchurch.
The death has been referred to the Coroner. Canterbury Police and Victim Support are working with his family and close friends.
The two other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash were taken to Christchurch Hospital by ambulance last night. The 25 year old female passenger remains in a serious condition while the 24 year old male driver has been discharged and is recovering at home.
Police investigations are continuing.
